Ardmore Distillery was built in 1897 by Adam Teacher. it was built to provide whisky for the popular, and growing, Teacher Highland Cream Blend. Ardmore started with just two stills but this doubled to 4 stills in 1955 and doubled again to 8 stills in 1974. The Distillery has passed through many hands and is currently owned by the US based Jim Bean Brands. Ardmore Distillery still produces whisky for Teachers s well as some single malts.

Ardmore Traditional Single Malt 46%
The 2007 release of this 'Traditional Cask' is the first official single malt from the Ardmore Distillery, this is a young whisky, but it was aged in quarter casks, which gives it a speedy maturation which helps to discount its youth.
Nose: Full of caramel. Toasted oak is evident and rich and just the faintest peat has pushed its way through.
Palate: Lots of barley and cereal notes, loads of rich bourbon, smoke and peat still present. Great interplay through the caramel sweetness and the vanilla spiced oak.
Finish: Has a sharp edge, more caramel and sugary barley notes and a smoothness and more tapering smoke.

Teachers Highland Cream Blended Whisky 40%
Nose Fruity and well malted with gentle sweetness. Some smoke and a touch of honey.
Mouth feel Big with a supple maltiness and the vaguest whisper of muted peat.
Finish Well fruited with toffee, malt and a faint hint of smoke.
