The Glenturret Distillery may well be the oldest working distillery in Scotland. Illicit distilling was taking place there in 1775, but illicit distillers have been operating in the Turret burn area since 1717 !!! It was first licensed to a Mr John Drummond in 1818 under the name "Hosh". It didn't take the name Glenturret until 1875. It now produces a 10 year old single malt as well as being an important part of the blended whisky known as "The Famous Grouse".

Nose:     Full with malted barley and toasty cereal. Notes of nutty oiliness, a touch of fruit peels and a herbal tones. There is a good oaken honeyed sweetness.

Palate:    Fruity and rich with thick sweetness and well-balanced oaked tannins. A touch of cut hay and a little earthen notes. The finish is of medium-length with a beautiful sweetness.
