Inchgower Distillery was founded by Alexander Wilson & Co in 1871. It remained in their control until 1936, when they went bankrupt. The distillery was then bought by the Buckie Town Council, mainly to keep the workers jobs safe. It sold it two years later, at a good profit, to Arthur Bell & Sons Ltd. It is currently owned by Diageo Plc.
Most of the Whisky produced here at the Inchgower Distillery is used in the famous "Bell's" blended scotch whisky. They also produces single malt whiskies such as Inchgoer 14 Year Old, (Flora & Fauna series).
