The Loch Lomond Distillery was established in 1965 by the Littlemill Distillery Company Ltd. The distillery briefly closed in 1984 but was taken over the following year by Glen Catrine Bonded warehouse Ltd, a Coffey still was added in 1993 to produce grain spirit. This is a very versatile distillery as it can produce very peaty whisky and very light, unpeated whisky. This is in fact the only distillery in Scotland that produces both grain and malt whisky. It produces a few single malts and a few blends, such as Scots Earl blended whisky.

Loch Lomond Single Malt 40%
Nose: Quite light with notes of leather and wood shavings and musty old attic with some cereal notes and a creaminess.
Palate: Quite full with notes of stemmy hay and musty cellar, hints of toasted granary bread with cereal notes, barley sweetness and a biscuity quality. The finish is quite long and full of cereal notes.

Scots Earl Blended Scotch Whisky
A bold and blissful union is shaped by the most careful distillation and prudent selection of superior quality ingredients. Full flavoured with a pungent ruggedness. Scots Earl has an uncomplicated, likeable character that should never be underestimated - or hurried.
