Mannochmore Distillery is fairly young. It was established in 1971 by the Distillers company to satisfy the growing demand for blended Scotch Whisky. This demand was not as large as the industry first thought and the distillery was mothballed between 1985 and 1989.

It is currently owned by Diagio plc.

Most of the whisky produced here goes into the Haig Blended scotch Whisky. It also produces a few single malts such as the Mannochmore 12 year old, (Flora & Fauna series), and the very rare black coloured Loch Dhu 10 Year Old.

Nose: Very delicate and fragrant. Wild rose, honeysuckle. Hint of mint. Marshmallow. Earth and grass after summer rain. A spring walk in the country.

Palate: Appetising, rich, fresh. Smooth to begin with. Blossoms with an array of spices. Candied ginger. Mint, liquorice. Vanilla cookies.

Finish: Satisfying, lingering and luscious. Ends on an almond milk note.
