Review  :   This is an OK wee pub. Its traditional with lots of ales, lots of old looking wood with barrels for tables. It was quite friendly but it was late when we were in so I don't know how friendly we were ! it's not a very exciting pub, but excitement wasn't what I was looking for, I was looking for a comfy seat and a good pint - and that's what I got.

* I was back in fort William in May 2011, (I take part in the Maggie's Monster Bike and Hike challenge which starts just outside the town), and I came back to this bar earlier in the evening than last time. It was better than I remembered ! with more ales and great bar food. Had some good banter with the staff and really enjoyed my time here.

This was the last pub we were in that night ! You can probably tell its late from the look on Stuart's face.

Comment : Great pub in a place like Fort William which unfortunately is suffering. Always found the staff to be really friendly and helpful. Excellent variety of real ales avaiable. Food menu suits every taste and it's good value and tasty tasty. Yes there is lots of interesting wood around and the recent refurb has made it really comfy. I would give the Grog and Gruel a huge thumbs up.
