Review : This is a fantastic pub ! and its in the top 3 of my all time best Edinburgh pubs. The history and decor alone in this pub is worth your time to visit. Then there is the fabulous choice of real ales available at any one time. Add to that the regular beer festivals and great service and you have pub that's hard to beat. The mix of people in this pub is also unusual as you have your real ale fans, rugby fans, people just in from the Waverly train station or waiting for a train, regulars, office workers, etc......
If you are visiting Edinburgh and want to try out the local pubs then I urge you to come to the Guildford and experience it for yourself.

Edinburgh is a real ale drinker's paradise, with many excellent pubs. The 'creme de la creme', however has to be the Guildford Arms. 'Ten (always) on' - and all in superb condition, whether a low gravity 'mild' or a powerful proper ipa; and eight 'in between'. Highly recommended.
