Situated to the east of Glasgow's High Street, Tennent's lager has been brewed at the Wellpark Brewery since 1885. However, brewing has been ongoing on the site since 1556 making this brewery the oldest commercial concern in the city. Producing one of Scotland's favourite alcoholic drinks, Tennent's Lager, Tennent Caledonian was the first company in the UK to brew lager. A company of firsts, they produced the first draught lager in 1924, first canned lager in 1935 and the first keg lager in 1963. They also have Scotland's biggest music festival,
T in the Park.

Directly to the north of the brewery lies the Necropolis and Glasgow Cathedral, while the course of the Molendinar Burn is directly to the west.

Here are some of the beers and lagers produced at the Wellpark Brewery :

Bright deep golden colour. A soft, frothy entry leads to a smooth dryish medium body of salt buttered baguette and light dried citrus flavors with a crisp, rounded, mildly earthy hop fade. Very supple and balance. A very nice, easy drinking beer.
